Meet Reverence Karate Sensei Alex Stephens at the 2022 Discover Conference Adaptive Karate Demo

At Reverence Karate-Do, Sensei Alex Stephens believes karate is how you treat people. Beyond fitness or learning self-defense karate teaches us self-discipline and respect for ourselves and others.

Sensei Alex has been working with the adaptive community since 2015, and has seen a range of positive results that affirm karate is for every body (as in, if you have a body, then you can practice karate). His customizable cirriculum has proven effective with helping people improve balance, coordination, and even brain function.

Sensei Alex was awarded a third-degree black belt and declared headmaster of American Open Karate Bujutsu by karate icon Jerry Piddington. His credentials are recognized by the American Karate Academies National Association (AKANA). He has been teaching karate to the adaptive community since 2015. He developed his passion for working with special needs teaching within the Oregon school system.
